What is online counselling?

Online counselling means that many more people can now access counselling at a time and place to suit their individual needs, and also save the time and expense of travelling.

Technical Stuff

The most popular ways of communicating are via video/webcam or email.  I recommend that we use a secure video platform such as Vsee or FaceTime, both of which are encrypted.

Communication can also be through Instant Messaging (IM) or phone, where an agreed appointment time, usually an hour, is set up.

All commuication between us is confidential and may not be revealed to anyone without your written permission, except where disclosure is required by law.

Email Exchanges

When using email, my preferred way of working is to send a password protected document as an attachment using your usual email service.

We would agree upon a password at our initial session which would then be used for any further communications by email.

email         mbcounselling@me.com

mobile       07814 824540

I will respond to your first email by sending you an agreement to sign, which gives details of how we will proceed and ask for some basic information about yourself.  It will also inform you of the limits of confidentiality and procedures for referring you on to another therapist, or organisation, if appropriate.

Social Media

I do not engage with clients on Facebook or any other social media platforms and if approached by a client in this way, I would not reply.
